City of Dreams Casino Resort MacauThe Background

Work commenced on the City of Dreams Casino Resort Macau during 2014. Designed by Architects Zaha Hadid, it is an architectural landmark in the Cotai district of Macau. It boasts 151,000 m2 of constructed area over 39 floors with 783 rooms, shopping facilities, the casino, numerous restaurants and a rooftop swimming pool. Melco Crown Entertainment commissioned the building.

It that was not enough a fifth hotel is now under construction. The forty storey building has two inter connected towers and will provide a further 780 guest rooms. It will be known as the Morpheus Hotel, complete with interconnected sky-ways. It is an iconic building with free-form exoskeleton steel structure. The new hotel is due to open during 2018.

When the City of Dreams Casino Resort Macau must surely rank as one of the worlds most impressive and largest casino resorts.

The existing facilities have already won three awards. The IGA award for its Casino VIP room, the Forbes 5 Star award for the Crown Towers and the Wellness Travel Award for the Best Spa in Macau.

The Accommodation

The Crown Towers 5 Star hotel has 300 rooms including 33 luxury villas. The Hard Rock Hotel has 322 rooms including two 5 Star Suites. For business and leisure there is the Grand Hyatt Hotel with meeting and wedding facilities. The Countdown Hotel also has 326 rooms including suites.

The accommodation is spread across four hotel towers linked together by an impressive podium which houses most of the public areas. Soon the Morpheus will open so there will be 5 hotels in all.

The Supporting Facilities

For dining there are seven Chinese and seven Asian Restaurants, six international restaurants and nine bar cafes. There is something for everyone here from a cup of coffee to a fine dining experience.

Retail facilities include beauty and cosmetics, fashion, watches and jewellery and more general outlets.

Entertainment

The Resort is already famous for the House Dancing Water which stages spectacular shows. It has 2000 seats, a stage and pool which is the size of 5 Olympic swimming pools. It is highly rated on tripadvisor and described as “world-class” attraction.

The Casino

The casino is gigantic, 420,000 square feet spread over two levels. The are 500 gaming tables offering Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette and Poker variants including Texas Holdem.

For those that like slot machines or pokies there is a choice of 750 state of the art and classic machines. There many progressive jackpot options to play for.
