Following approval of a resort gaming licence this week by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, construction work has already started. It will take 5 months to move contaminated soil from the site at a cost of 30 million dollars. The site, on the Mystic river has been home to many chemical companies rolling back to the 1860’s.

Work has already begun on constructing the basement of the car park. Over the next two years a 24 storey bronze coloured glass hotel tower will emerge from the once contaminated land. It will be a prominent new landmark close to Route 93 running through the heart of Boston. When complete the Wynn Boston Harbour Casino will measure up at 3.3 million square feet including the hotel complex.
